GETTING STARTED
 
Art Clay comes in many consistencies and forms thereby making it incredibly versatile.  These, as well as all materials required for this exciting new craft, including books, stones and findings, are available from my studio for purchase 
 
All necessary training in the use of the products is done during workshops held In Bedfordview, Johannesburg, mornings, afternoons & evenings during the week, and Saturday mornings & afternoons.

 

Basic Skills Workshops

This workshop course introduces you to the Art Clay Silver in its various forms ie. clay, paste & syringe and how to use them separately & combined. 

In addition you are taught how to make the most of your clay and the techniques & tips to come a successful jewellery maker!

During this 3 hour workshop, you will make a pure silver piece of jewellery.  

You will learn how to fire it and finish it and take home your beautiful, handcrafted, fine silver treasure.
  

The Basic Course, inclusive of all materials, is R420.00.

 

Specific Skills Classes 

During these classes you will learn how to make a ring, insert stones, the filigree tecnique, insert a brooch fitting, make glass cabochons and many others depending on specific areas of interest.  

The cost of these classes is the basic fee of R420.00 plus the cost of any additional materials you use such as findings & stones.

You’ve learnt the basics and a few extra skills and now you want to continue on your own but you don’t have all the “nice to have” extra equipment!!  You are welcome to come to the studio and make use of all the equipment & facilities.  Please make an appointment to ensure that I am on hand to give you any guidance you may require.
  
 The only charge for these sessions is for any products used.

 

Becoming a Teacher

For those of you who want to teach, it is necessary to undergo a formal training process to gain the proper certification.  
 
The training consists of three levels to ensure that the high standard and integrity of the product is maintained:
 
Level 1 - After achieving this level you are qualified to teach the basic courses.

Level 2 - This is the next step to achieving Senior Instructor Certification.

Level 3 - This is the application for Senior Instructor Status which qualifies you  to train other senior instructors.
